Mrs. W was married to an engineer working in East Africa reclaiming valuable mineral deposits. He had substantial offshore investments which he had hidden in Jersey Bank deposits until careful examination of documentation revealed transactions that did not correspond to bank statements or investments listed.

The husband refused to give full disclosure, but the evidence presented to the court was sufficient to achieve a settlement of the vast majority of the UK assets upon the wife.
